The group's successful career spanning more than 16 years has been marked by 5 studio albums, worldwide airplays, charts, numerous concerts and TV shows.

2003

December 11, 2003, Radio Unistar first airplays «Behind The Destiny», the song by an unknown music project named ATLANTICA. Within a week the initiative is supported by practically all radio stations in Belarus and the song rockets to #1 position in national charts and stays there for 53 weeks.

2004

February, 2004

«Strangers», the second radio-single by ATLANTICA, is released. Its success keeps fueling the hype surrounding the new name on stage, which most listeners believe to be from abroad.

 

April, 2004

The popular tabloid «Komsomolskaya Pravda» publishes the first ATLANTICA’s interview revealing that the project is a duo formed by Alex David (lead vocal and songwriting) and Dimitr (backing vocal). However, the intrigue remains, since both musicians hide their faces under Venetian masks.

 

June, 2004

No more secrecy – the members of the duo uncover their faces during a specially organized direct line with readers of the journal «AIF – Argumenty i Fakty».

 

July, 2004

The group’s first published record – an EP «ATLANTICA» –  is released by West Records on July 16, 2004. The event is supported by ATLANTICA’s first public performance in one of Minsk nightclubs which becomes a huge success.

 

October, 2004

A new co-operation between one of the biggest American radio-distribution companies Radio Ventures Inc. and the duo makes it possible for the new song «Shivering» to get internationally on air and radio-broadcast in a  number of countries. Later, 18 promotional radio-singles by ATLANTICA will have the same opportunity to be heard far beyond Belarus owing to Radio Ventures Inc.

 

November, 2004

ATLANTICA’s first music video for the new song «Gone (Remember My Love)» is premiered, featuring Svetlana Zelenkovskaya, a then famous Belarusian actress. Critics praised the work and the video was actively promoted on TV  for a long time.

 

December, 2004

«Behind The Destiny» ranks second in the first massive national song contest «Belarus Song of the Year 2004» on ONT TV channel. ATLANTICA is named «major music sensation of the year».

2005

January, 2005

According to the famous British producer Richard  Niles, ATLANTICA gets their one-in-a-million chance – by an amazing twist of fate their record «Shivering» happens to be first broadcast and then airplayed for a few months by BBC Radio 1, UK.

 

February, 2005

February 22, 2005 the first ATLANTICA’s LP called «Heavenly» is released by West Records. The retail sales figures hit all-time records in Belarus since the first run of printed copies is sold out within 3 hours. The English-language album «Heavenly» tops Belarusian Album Chart for consecutive 2 months.

 

March, 2005

The previously released song, «Real Love», is voted «Best Song» by TV audience in the «Song Of The Year. Spring Edition» contest.

 

March – August, 2005

During the first half of 2005 the group plays conerts and is on tour in Belarus, the Baltic States, Russia and Poland.

 

In the fall of 2005 ATLANTICA gets back in studio to start recording their 2nd album.

 

December, 2005

«Heart and Mind (L.O.V.E.), the new single prefacing the duo’s second LP, is released. The song, recorded with the participation of the National Opera choir soloists, peaks at #84 in European Airplay Charts which makes ATLANTICA the first musicians from Belarus to be found in such a serious music chart.

2006

February, 2006

February of 2006 is marked by a very significant event – ATLANTICA is celebrated at the prestigious national music awards ceremony «Mysteria Zvuka 2005» (Mystery of Sound) and granted «Best Pop Artist» and «Best Artist» for their album «Heavenly» (twice platinum sales status).

 

May, 2006

Probably, the most popular and well-known hit by ATLANTICA, «Do You Do You Wanna», appears and is massively air-played. The new song is heavily rotated by FM-stations in Belarus and the Baltic States, winning the national song contest «Belarus Song of the Year 2006».

 

 

July, 2006

A dramatic change in the band occurs: Dimitr leaves the duo and Alex David, being the project’s producer, decides to replace him by  two new backing vocalists,  Elena G. and Vitaly.

Media start gossiping about motives and consequences which later results in a huge scandal and hostility between Alex and Dimitr, the former band-mate.

 

 

August, 2006

ATLANTICA in the updated trio-format starts promoting the new stage image and the new radio-single «Better Safe Than Sorry».

 

The second half of the year 2006 the musicians tour across Belarus and take part in numerous TV shows.

 

 

December, 2006

ATLANTICA is invited to Azerbaijan and plays a few successful concerts in Baku.

 

Another trophy at «Belarus Song of the Year» for «Better Safe Than Sorry»,  performed  together with a legendary Belarusian traditional dance company «Khoroshki»  during the TV show.

2007

March, 2007

The band’s 2nd album, «Urbanoid» (West Records), is out on March 1, 2007. The LP’s sound was forged in collaboration with George Shilling, a renowned British record producer and audio engineer (Texas, Blur, Oasis, The Corrs etc.). Albeit quite mixed critical reviews, the sales figures once again prove ATLANTICA’s success and settled popularity in the country.

 

March 7, 2007. A long anticipated and sold-out concert in Minsk launches the band’s two-year tour, supported by MTS, the biggest mobile network operator in Russia and Belarus.

ATLANTICA is among the winners of «Belarus Song of the Year 2007»

2008

May, 2008

ATLANTICA’s new record «Miss Radio» is released and presented at the first national beauty pageant «Miss Belarus 2008», soon followed by a video.

 

During 2008 the band is on tour in Belarus and abroad, though refusing most interviews for media  and giving rise to rumors about the project’s oncoming disbandment.

2009

February, 2009

After a prolonged silence, ATLANTICA suddenly announces the release of a new album in the spring of 2009.

 

 

April, 2009

«Taboo», the 3rd studio  album by ATLANTICA is released at Vigma music label. The work features 11 original tracks and 1 a capella version, selected from about 30 previously composed songs. Many pointed out the changed sound of the album, somehow providing a totally different impression of their music owing to widely used acoustic instruments and less electronic samples. But not only the record label and the sound changed – ATLANTICA once again became a duo made of Alex David and Ian Britte (guitar,  backing vocal, lyricist).

 

The music from the new LP was showcased to audience on April 24, 2009 in a luxurious capital Millennium club.

 

May, 2009

In mid-may 2009 Experty.by, a Belarusian expert music guide, named the album «Taboo» the most ouststanding record in the history of ATLANTICA. Music critics gave the LP their highest scores.

 

June, 2009

The song «I Always Sail To Your Shore» enters radio charts in Lithuania (Top 3), Macedonia (Top 10), Russia and Poland.

 

October, 2009

The duo takes part in a fashion show by Valentin Yudashkin, a prominent Russian couturier.

 

November, 2009

For the first time in the history of showbiz in Belarus a signature perfume line, ATLANTICA, is launched. The line, comprising 3 fragrances named after the band’s songs («Alpha & Omega», «Behind The Destiny» and «Taboo»), came to be the result of a fruitful collaboration between ATLANTICA’s frontman Alex David and a reputed franco-belarusian company DILIS PARFUM. For the time being, there are already 6 original fragrances for men and 5 fragrances for women in the collection.

2012

March, 2012

The new show, «The Breath of France», is staged in Minsk and becomes a real success among ATLANTICA’s audience. Critics’ reviews are most favorable.

 

April, 2012

The 4th studio album, «V» (Anagram Music, Vigma), is released first in France and a little later in Belarus. This became the first Franco-English album by ATLANTICA.

 

June – September, 2012

Alex David and Ian Britte play several concerts in France, supported by a local group of session musicians.

 

October, 2012

Unexpectedly, Ian Britte declares his intention to leave ATLANTICA citing his lasting fatigue and  desire to focus on his career as a TV host. For some time Alex continues to perform alone accompanied by the session band.

 

2013

May, 2013

The public is surprised by a sudden release of a brand-new record called «Home», which causes even more stir since ATLANTICA appears on TV in its original lineup – Alex David and Dimitr. Both members hint at their true reunion and long-term co-operation and subsequently get together for a few performances in Bealrus.

 

July, 2013

The video for «Home» is filmed in Normandy featuring the former band-mates. Its launch keeps feeding rumors and speculations. The song is enthusiastically welcomed at the annual «Song of the Year 2013»

2014

January, 2014

Considering complicated circumstances and insufficient promotion, Alex David refuses to prolong the contract with Anagram Music

 

May, 2014

The new single «Hollywood» is released.

 

In the fall of 2014 Alex David gives an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, saying that ATLANTICA is taking a break in the activity and that he does not know for how long.

2015 - 2017

During the period of 3 years there is neither ATLANTICA’s  record releases nor its concert activity.

 

December, 2017

An unexpected new song «Million Chances» signed ATLANTICA goes on air and Alex informs of the project’s upcoming return on stage.

2018

January, 2018

ATLANTICA announces «Absolute Love», its new concert program accompanied by PREMIER orchestra.

 

March, 2018

March 1, 2018, «Absolute Love» is held in Minsk Prime Hall. The show, featuring ATLANTICA’s most well-known hits newly styled in symphonic and jazz arrangements as well as a number of international superhits reinvented by ATLANTICA and PREMIER ORCHESTRA, meets audience’s warm reception and a week later, on March 8, 2018, is broadcast by the first national TV channel Belarus 1 at prime-time.

The new song «Silver Moon» is released.

 

Summer 2018

ATLANTICA and PREMIER ORCHESTRA give a series of concerts with «Absolute Love» across Belarus.

2019

April, 2019

ATLANTICA in its new lineup (Alex David and Roman Bonz) is invited to the popular Saturday night show on Belarus 1 TV channel to perform «Every River Flows», a brand-new new single. The duo says that they are recording new songs and ATLANTICA’s new album  (first time over the past 7 years) is scheduled in early 2020.

Renewed ATLANTICA is busy recording in studio and playing gigs in Belrus.
